Courses are on a one to one basis and are held in my fully equipped workshop on the East Yorkshire Coast or at Snainton Woodworking Supplies Ltd and run from:- Half day - 10am – 1pm   or   1pm – 4pm Full day - 10am – 4.30pm (including ½ hr break for lunch)

Course fees are:-
Half day	£45
Full day*	£85
Two day	£160

*Due to pre-course preparations, Inside out and Open Segment Courses fees are £100 per day.

Courses can be tailor made to suit your requirements.
Tuition for a maximum of 4 people can be arranged. (2 Tutors for 3 or more students)
Materials and refreshments are provided.

BEGINNERS COURSE
Full day course covers:-

1. An introduction to Health and Safety in the workshop
2. Basic tool requirements
3. Tool sharpening
4. Mounting and turning a bowl
5. Turning between centres
6. Sanding and finishing

Half day course covers:-

1. An introduction to Health and Safety in the workshop
2. Basic tool requirements
3. Tool sharpening
4. Either - Bowl turning   or   Turning between centres
5. Sanding and finishing

OPEN SEGMENT TURNING COURSE
A minimum of 1 full day is required, depending on your ability.
The course covers:-

1. Timber choice and preparation
2. Measuring and cutting the segments
3. Gluing the blanks for turning using my open segment wheel
4. The turning of a bowl, vase or lidded pot
5. Sanding and finishing

INVOLUTED TURNING (INSIDE OUT TURNING) COURSE
A minimum of 1 full day is required, depending on your ability.
The course covers:-

1. Timber choice and preparation
2. Gluing – including paper glue joints
3. Mounting the timber on the lathe
4. Turning the various combinations of timber orientations to create an open ended inside-out section to be used as a base for either a candleholder or lidded pot
5. Sanding and finishing
